Keynote: Learning Strategies that Executives Love

Executives hate learning strategies that don’t deliver value. So, let’s create learning strategies that add value and accomplish meaningful outcomes instead. How? First, recognize that learning strategies exist at three levels, have unique purposes, target specific audiences and will achieve different results. They are interconnected and require unique purpose-built methods. Three levels of learning strategy include:
- Organizational: A learning strategy focuses on the creation and evolution of the learning ecosystem and learning and development (L&D) operations, establishing, managing and improving essential organizational enablers.
- Role or function: A learning strategy maximizes the value of the organization’s ecosystem and addresses deficiencies in knowledge, skill and competence — and performance — to deliver business results and achieve crucial performance milestones.
- Program, course and/or module: Informed by research and robust analyses, a learning strategy provides formal training, informal learning and performance support to deliver measurable, engaging, high-quality, and relevant content, including realistic practice and feedback.
